Welcome to Saskatchewan Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is like physical therapy for the muscles of your face and mouth. When these muscles develop abnormal patterns over a period of time, it can lead to the development of an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder (OMDs).
OMDs are disorders in the muscle function of the lips, tongue, and/or jaw that can negatively impact an individual's health and development. Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is an individualized program of strength and retraining exercises of the tongue and orofacial muscles designed to correct maladaptive oral habits and restore correct oral resting posture. |
